Abigail Cruttenden and Rebecca Lacey star in Benefactors

Rebecca Lacey as Sheila in Benefactors

March 07, 2012

Abigail Cruttenden and Rebecca Lacey star in Michael Frayn’s play Benefactors at the Sheffield Crucible.

The play follows two couples, David and the seemingly-perfect house wife Jane (played by Abigail) and Colin and the erratic Sheila (played by Rebecca).

The couples’ friendship soon descends into conflict spurred on by David’s ambitious architectural plan to build new high-rise apartment buildings in north London.

Michael Billington awarded the production a four-star review in The Guardian, describing it as “impeccably acted by [...] Abigail Cruttenden [...] and Rebecca Lacey.”

Benefactors performs in the Studio Space at the Sheffield Crucible until March 24th as part of the Michael Frayn Season.
