Manchester Evening News announces Shortlist

Nominations for the Manchester Evening News Awards, which celebrate the best theatre presented in the North of England each year, have been announced.

 

Daniel Casey is nominated as Best Actor in a Leading Role for his performance in Caryl Churchill's A Number at The Library Theatre.

 

Amy Beth Hayes is up for Actress in a Supporting Role for True Love Lies at the Manchester Royal Exchange in which she played Madison, a teenage-girl desperately prolonging her gap year.

 

Tom Sturridge has been nominated for the Newcomer award for his performance as William in Punk Rock by Simon Stephens. A co-production between the Lyric Hammersmith and the Manchester Royal Exchange, Punk Rock also starred Henry Lloyd-Hughes and Harry McEntire and receives a nomination for Best Production.

 

The winners will be announced on 8th December.
