Aimee-Ffion Edwards wanders around Islington in Walking & Talking
June 25, 2012
Aimee- Ffion Edwards plays Mary, Kathy Burke’s childhood friend, in Sky Atlantic’s new sitcom
Walking and Talking.
The semi-autobiographical show follows the young 14 year old Kathy Burke and Mary as they walk around Islington discussing boys, snogging, avoiding the local crazy man and school. Aimee-Ffion’s character loyally listens to “Kaff’s” ramblings even getting a boyfriend in the process, much to her best friend’s utter disbelief.
The hilarious four episode miniseries was picked up by Sky off the back of Burke’s story on
Little Crackers, a series in which celebrities film a memorable moment from their childhood. Walking & Talking starts in 1979, where Burke is keen to become a music journalist after being told she is too ugly to be an actress.
Aimee-Ffion recently starred as Phaedra in Jerusalem and as Jennie Jones opposite Idris Elba in the hit BBC drama Luther. She also recently played Rose in The Recruiting Officer at the Donmar, the first play under new artistic director Josie Rourke.
Walking and Talking airs on Sky Atlantic at 10.30pm on the 25th June.
