Biography

Ben is a BAFTA-winning writer for children's television and an experienced writer for adult comedy shows.

He began writing for television during the 1990s, when he worked as a BBC contract writer for Radio Light Entertainment. He worked on many of the decade's most successful comedy shows, including Spitting Image, Saturday Live, Smack the Pony, Alastair MacGowan's Big Impression and The Big Breakfast.

In 1997, Ben started working in children's television after a stint of writing for (and appearances on) Live and Kicking with Zoe Ball and Jamie Theakston. At ITV Ben wrote and script edited the award-winning SMTV.

Since then he has written numerous children's programmes including MI High (with one of his episodes winning an RTS Award in 2009), Horrible Histories and Disney's award-winning Bus Life, which gained him a BAFTA nomination as Best Original Writer in 2004.

He is currently lead writer on the re-boot of the all-time classic TV show Dangermouse.
