Sam Stern

Sam Stern is on a mission to get young people cooking. He wrote his first cookbook Cooking Up a Storm (Walker Books 2004) at the age of 14 in collaboration with his mother Susan Stern. It has been translated into 10 languages and is an international bestseller.

Sam's other books are: Real Food Real Fast (2005), Get Cooking (2006) and Sam Stern's Student Cookbook: Survive in Style on a Budget (2008). Sam has also contributed to numerous publications, including The School Food Trust 'Let's Get Cooking' initiative, British Food Fortnight, Boomerang School Diaries (distributed to over a million children annually) and Teach Your Granny To Text - You Are What You Do.

He has written for First News (2005-2007), The Telegraph and contributed to other printed and online media, including teenage and women's and online magazines in the UK and worldwide. In 2008 Sam attended the Ballymaloe Cookery School in County Cork, Ireland. He has been endorsed by Jamie Oliver, Delia Smith, Darina Allen and Gordon Ramsey, amongst others.

Sam currently writes a monthly four-page feature for Yorkshire Life Magazine and a weekly blog on his website. He gained a place to read Politics at Edinburgh University from September 2009. His next book is Sam Stern's Student Vegetarian Collection (Walker Books 2010).
