Donald McRae was born in South Africa in 1961. He has written five books including Every Second Counts which documents the race to perform the world's first successful heart transplant. Hehas twice won the William Hill award for excellence in sports writing. He lives in London.
His latest book, The Last Trials of Clarence Darrow, is published in the US by William Morrow.
