Catherine Alliott worked as a copywriter in advertising in London before writing her first novel, The Old-Girl Network. This was selected for WHSmith's fresh talent promotion in 1994 and became a huge bestseller in the UK.

Catherine followed with string of successful novels, including Going Too Far (1995), The Real Thing (1996), Rosie Meadows Regrets (1998), Olivia's Luck (2000),  A Married Man (2002), The Wedding Day (2004), Not that Kind of Girl (2005) and A Crowded Marriage (Headline 2006).

Her latest book, The Secret Life of Evie Hamilton (Penguin, 2009) is available now in Paperback. Her next book, One Day In May, will be published in 2010 by Michael Joseph.

Catherine lives with her husband and their three children in Hertfordshire.
