Feb 12, 2010

RNA Award

The Italian Matchmaker (Hodder, 2009) by Santa Montefiore and The Glass Painter's Daughter (Pocket Books, 2009) by Rachel Hore have both been shortlisted for the Romantic Novel of the Year award, presented by the Romantic Novelists' Association.

Santa Montefiore's The Italian Matchmaker, of which the Daily Telegraph said, 'it is as believable as the writing is beautiful,' tells the story of former high-flying city broker Luca, who flees to Italy to reassess his life following his failed marriage, and begins to fall for a grieving woman with a dark secret.

Rachel Hore's The Glass Painter's Daughter is about travelling musician Fran Morrison who, left in charge of her ill father's stained glass workshop, begins to restore a shattered angel window and uncovers a fascinating Victorian love story that resonates in her own life. Acclaimed author Barbara Erskine said, 'What a delightful and romantic tale...Brilliant. The best yet'.

The winner will be announced on Tuesday, 16 March 2010 at the Award Luncheon at the Royal Garden Hotel, in Kensington.
