South Downs
Producer Chichester Festival Theatre
Director Jeremy Herrin
Set in a public school in 1962 and written as a curtain-raiser for The Browning Version, South Downs centres on the formative experiences of a lonely, socially-inept schoolboy, Blakemore, whose earnest nature repels teachers and students alike.
Bradley plays Jenkins, an equal awkward gangle of a student who becomes Blakemore’s only real friend, though that friendship is jeopardized.
