Brian’s entry into the world of drama was his 2005 short film Screwback. This was based on his award winning feature length screenplay Sisk and demonstrated an ability to create a dark, brooding drama that is both visually slick and dramatically engaging.
In 2009 he went to Thailand to direct the short film Crossing Salween, an epic, moving and spiritual account of a child's struggle to survive in military ruled Burma. This film is now being developed into a feature length drama.
These two films demonstrate Brian's visual flair and strong command of story and also his versatile directing style which allows him to retain his voice within diversely different genres and subjects.
Brian is also one of Irelands leading commercial directors who specialises in character based work ranging from comedy to more serious social subjects. It was his work for Irish NGO ‘Trociare’ and the experience of making commercials in third world countries with the help of local people that led to both Brian and producer Gary Moore making Crossing Salween
