Carol Baxter

Carol Baxter came to history through genealogy and, accordingly, has a different approach to most academic historians. Her focus is upon narrative history and the history of ordinary individuals. Her first, critically acclaimed work, An Irresistible Temptation was published in 2006 and Breaking the Bank, the exciting true tale of Australia's biggest bank robbery was a published by Allen & Unwin in 2008. Carol is currently working on Captain Thunderbolt’s Lady: the story of Mary Ann Bugg which Allen & Unwin will publish in September 2010.
