Catholics, written, directed and produced by Richard Alwyn, will air on BBC4 on 23rd February at 9pm. The three-part series explores what it is like to be a Catholic in modern Britain.
The first film, Priests, provides an intimate portrait of life at Allen Hall, one of only three Roman Catholic seminaries in Britain. It follows three men from very different backgrounds on their personal journeys to become priests. Children, focuses on the children of St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School, a tiny school with just 33 pupils in an area rich in Catholic tradition. Women, sees Richard exploring how Catholicism has shaped the lives of various women.
