Set in a sleepy West Country village, Tamara Drewe follows the exploits a young woman who creates a stir when she returns home a beautiful and successful journalist, unrecognisably transformed from her youth. Based on Posy Simmonds's graphic novel, itself inspired by Thomas Hardy's Far From the Madding Crowd, the film also stars Gemma Arterton (Tamara Drewe), Dominic Cooper (Ben), Tamsin Grieg and Roger Allam.
