Children's BAFTA Nominations Announced

The Children's BAFTA nominations have been announced with leading lights in children's television featured in the shortlist.

Ben Ward has been nominated in the Writer category for his work as lead writer on Horrible Histories. The phenomenally successful children's comedy show has also been nominated in the Comedy category and the BAFTA Kids' Vote Top 10 list. Gerard Foster and Oriane Messina and Fay Rusling have also written for the show. 

Also nominated in the Comedy category are The Legend of Dick and Dom, written by Carl Carter and Tony Cooke, and Sadie J created and lead-written by Robert Evans and produced by Paul McKenzie.

Carl Carter and Tony Cooke have also written on The Slammer, which has been nominated in the Entertainment category. 

Rastamouse has been nominated in the Pre-School Animation category, with Rex Obano writing an episode of the incredibly popular series about a crime-fighting mouse. 

Ben Faulkes, who both writes for and performs in Mr Bloom's Nursery, has been nominated in the Performer category for his role as Mr Bloom.

The awards ceremony will take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on 27th November 2011.
