A tragic accident. It all happened so quickly. She couldn't have prevented it. Could she?
In a split second, Jenna Gray's world descends into a nightmare. Her only hope of moving on is to walk away from everything she knows to start afresh. Desperate to escape, Jenna moves to a remote cottage on the Welsh coast, but she is haunted by her fears, her grief and her memories of a cruel November night that changed her life forever.
Slowly, Jenna begins to glimpse the potential for happiness in her future. But her past is about to catch up with her, and the consequences will be devastating…

that floored me. I loved it and did not want it to end. Peter James
A superbly written, tense book that will actually make you gasp out loud!
This is a story so heartfelt that reading it feels like intruding on a private nightmare, yet it never frightens you away and ends with a series of searing twists. Even if Mackintosh never writes another thriller as good as this – though I think she will – she should be vastly proud of this one.
An accomplished first novel
Deft, plot-twisting and emotional debut.
After a tragic car accident, a woman flees to the Welsh coast – so far so straightforward, but then the novel slams on the brakes and does a u-turn so surprising you'll be flicking back to the start to hunt down the clues you missed.
Tense, twisty, emotionally haunting; this follows Jenna, a grieving woman who is trying to escape the repercussions of a tragic accident she was involved in with her partner.
Astonishingly good!Lee Child

The author’s real skill is in the way she incorporates jaw-dropping, yet plausible, plot twists into the already complex storyline. Mackintosh has written the kind of book that sticks in the reader’s mind well after the final sentence.Kirkus Starred Review
Chilling, compelling and compassionate, I Let You Go is a finely-crafted novel with a killer twistPaula Hawkins, author of global bestseller The Girl on a Train
The big plot twist in Clare Mackintosh’s first novel, I LET YOU GO (Berkley), is genuinely shocking. The jolts that follow, right up until the last page, are pretty good too. And if you’re the kind of genre geek who jumps back to the beginning of a book to work out how you’ve been hoodwinked, you’ll find that the author has played fair and square.New York Times Book Review
