Henry VI – Part Two is the 6th instalment of Michael Boyd’s ambitious 8-part production of Shakespeare’s The Histories Cycle for the RSC.
It follows King Henry as his rule comes under increasing threat from various factions within his own kingdom. The Earl of Suffolk tricks Henry into marrying Margaret, his lover, in an attempt to control the throne through her influence. Suffolk then has England’s Lord Protector, the Duke of Gloucester, murdered. When Henry uncovers Suffolk’s treachery and has him banished from the kingdom, he must then face a challenge from the powerful House of York and risk full scale civil war in England.
Jonathan played the parts of Richard, Bevis and Hume in the production.
