Originally from America, Karin Salvalaggio has lived in West London for the past twenty years. She grew up in a military family and has fond memories of her nomadic childhood. There were the hours on the road, the anticipation of a new life, the unpacking of the last one and the constant prospect of another adventure just around the corner. She’s lived in places as climatically diverse as Alaska and Florida and as culturally diverse as California and Iran.

Karin attended the University of California Santa Cruz, graduating in 1989, and has recently completed an MA in Creative Writing at Birkbeck. Her short story Walleye Junction was published in the Mechanics Institute Review 8 in 2011 and in May 2014, her first full-length novel Bone Dust White was published in the US by Minotaur Books in May 2014.

Karin lives and writes in Chiswick with her two children and a Schnauzer named after Seamus Heaney.
