Writer for theatre, film and television
A writer for TV, film, animation and VR, Lydia is an alumnus of the Royal Court and Soho Theatre Writers Groups and the National Film & Television School. In 2019 her teen pilot script Living Wild was awarded the Funny Women Writing Award. In 2021 her co-written dark comedy A True Crime Story (with Joseph Baker) made The Brit List.
With a background in script development for theatre producer Sonia Friedman, Lydia's first play The Buzz was a finalist in the Bread & Roses Playwriting Award. Her next, Hear Me Howl, was a Time Out top pick of VAULT Festival and described by The Stage as 'brutally funny and refreshing'.
Lydia is currently writing original projects for Various Artists Limited (I May Destroy You, Dead Pixels), Ubisoft Film & TV and The BFI. She is mentored by Bafta Breakthrough Brit Kirstie Swain (Pure, Run, Sweetpea) as part of the BFI NETWORK / BAFTA Crew's talent development scheme for 16 emerging filmmakers from underrepresented groups.
Lydia is based on the South West coast.
