Massimo Carlotto was born in Padua, Italy. His first book,  The Fugitive, was published in 1995 by E/O. His popular Alligator series, soon to become a TV series, was also published by E/O. His other titles include  Death’s Dark Abyss, Poisonville, Bandit Love, At the End of a Dull Day (all by E/O), Respiro Corto (Einaudi) and Il Turista (Rizzoli). Massimo Carlotto is one of Italy’s most popular writers and authored some of the most important novels in the Mediterranean noir genre.
