Stewart Copeland is best known as the drummer for the world famous band, The Police. Stewart was born in 1952 in Alexandria, Virginia, in the United States, but soon after moved with his family to Beirut, Lebanon. When his family moved again to England new opportunities for Stewart to enter the world of rock 'n' roll arose, first as a journalist for a drummer magazine, and later as the drummer for British prog-rock group Curved Air.

Stewart went on to form The Police with Henry Padovani, Sting and Andy Summers. The band became globally popular in the late 1970s and Stewart was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as fifth greatest drummer of all time.

Stewart now focuses his creative energies on composing for film and television and presenting in both America and the UK. Stewart is probably best known for his time as judge on BBC entertainment show Just the Two of Us.
