Non-fiction writer
Walter Isaacson, the CEO of the Aspen Institute, has been chairman of CNN and the managing editor of Time magazine.

He is the author of several books including the US bestseller Benjamin Franklin: An American Life and Einstein: His Life and Universe (Quill Award for Best Biography 2007). His new book, Steve Jobs: A Biography, was sold in 47 languages and was the biggest book of 2011.

Walter Isaacson was educated at Oxford University, as a Rhodes Scholar, at Pembroke College. He began his career in journalism at The Sunday Times. He joined TIME in 1978 and served as a political correspondent, national editor and editor of new media before becoming the magazine's editor in 1996. He became Chairman and CEO of CNN in 2001, and then president and CEO of the Aspen Institute in 2003. He was appointed by President Obama to be the Chairman of the Broadcasting Board of Governors.

He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and daughter.
