Profile

Danyelle Freeman is the founder of Restaurantgirl.com, a website that has received critical attention for her reviews of New York’s best new restaurants and chefs.

Danyelle guides New Yorkers through the hottest menus, chefs and trends in town. The Restaurant Girl website was inspired by Danyelle’s need for a young, passionate critic she could identify with, not an anonymous columnist sitting behind a computer. So she launched her own, non-anonymous site, which was widely accepted by New York’s discriminating dining world. Soon after the launch of her site, Danyelle was spotlighted in a New York Times Style section article revealing a new generation of food writers and influencers. Danyelle served as the restaurant critic for the New York Daily News for two years.

Danyelle recently appeared as a judge on Iron Chef America as well as the sole judge of the semi-finals of The Chopping Block, hosted by chef Marco Pierre White. She is a regular food correspondent and expert on Food TV Network, Plum TV, The Travel Channel and the Cooking Channel.

Danyelle has a simple philosophy: “With so little time and so much to eat, who has time to cook or take-out? There are too many great restaurants and chefs to discover. Every plate is my playground. Think of me as your culinary concierge: I volunteer my taste buds so you don’t ever have to waste your time on a mediocre meal again.”
