Ella Hickson

Ella is a multi-award-winning playwright, who is the recipient of the 2013 Catherine Johnson Award.

Her work includes Boys (High Tide, Nuffield, Soho), The Authorised Kate Bane (Traverse, Tron), Fringe First winner and Evening Standard Award nominee Eight, (Trafalgar Studios and New York), Precious Little Talent (Trafalgar Studios), Decade (Headlong), Soup (Traverse) and Hot Mess (Latitude, Arcola). She is currently under commission to Headlong Theatre to write a new play, Oil, and her adaptation for the RSC, Wendy and Peter Pan, will premiere in December 2013.

She also writes for the screen and her film Hold on Me (dir Samuel Abrahams) premiered at the 55th BFI London Film Festival. Current drama commissions include original narrative projects for Mammoth, Company and Endor.
