Eugene O'Hare

Eugene is an accomplished young Irish actor and writer.

The rights to his play Sydney & The Old Girl have been secured by three independent producers and a 2013 London production is currently being planned. He has written two other full length plays; Only Good People Love Bach and The Weatherman. Both plays received readings at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art with actors such as Patrick O'Kane, Mark Hadfield and Alan Cox. He penned a new piece for the ‘Home’ season at the Abbey Theatre in 2013 and previously has worked with Channel 4 as part of the "4Screenwriters" placement for which he wrote a psychological thriller called Shopping for Boys.

As an actor he has worked at the National, Royal Court, Old Vic, Arcola, Hampstead, Abbey Theatre, Glasgow Citz and on Broadway. He will be directed by Stephen Rea in a new play at the end of 2012 and again in a second new play which Sam Shepard has written especially for Field Day theatre company in 2013.
