Francesca graduated with an MA in Screenwriting from the National Film and Television School in March 2011.

Her animation short, Abuelas, about the Grandmothers of the Plaza de Mayo, was shown as part of a Human Rights Film Night at the Tricycle Theatre and awards include Best Film at the London International Animation Festival, the Golden Mikeldi for Animation at the Bilbao International Festival, and the Arte Short Film Award at the Munich International Festival. It was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Short Animation.

She has worked with Frank Spotnitz on a number of his shows and has been a key member of the writing team on the BBC/HBO series Hunted, Transporter, Series 2 and is currently working on the next series of Crossing Lines for Tandem Productions. She is also developing various original ideas for TV. 

Francesca was also named a Broadcast 'Hot Shot' in 2012.
