Gerald Martin is the Andrew W. Mellon Professor of Modern Languages
at the University of Pittsburgh. He has visited every country in Latin
America and has written widely about the continent. He has also served on the juries of Latin America's best known literary prizes.
Gerald has been the only English-speaking member of the Archive of
Twentieth Century Latin American Literature in Paris (University of
Paris and UNESCO) for twenty five years and is a recent President of the
International Institute of Ibero-American Literature in the US.
