Award-winning writer Heather Tyrrell has been working in television for ten years,
and writing for the last four. Her experience spans comedy,
drama, teen and children's programmes including My Family, Totally Frank and Byker Grove, as well as online and interactive projects.
Heather co-wrote the online alternative reality game Smokescreen for Channel 4 and games company Six To Start, which won South By South West 2010 Best Game Award.
Heather began her television career as a researcher and script
editor, before turning to writing after her half hour comedy script, Nights in Space,
landed her a place as a top ten finalist in the BBC Comedy / New
Writing ‘Two Timing' competition. Two of her original series have now
been optioned - comedy drama Avatar by Channel K and sitcom Space-R-Us by Avalon Entertainment.
Heather also leads a double life as a celebrated cabaret performer, in the guise of her colourful, ukulele-toting alter-ego, Tricity Vogue.
