Biography

Jim Loach's debut feature Oranges and Sunshine was produced by Sixteen Films and See Saw Films and written by Rona Munro. The film stars Emily Watson, David Wenham and Hugo Weaving and was distributed by Icon. The critically acclaimed film was nominated for the Hitchcock D'Or and 7 AACTA awards in Australia; for which Hugo Weaving picked up Best Actor. Emily Watson also pick up an IF Award for Best Actress.

Jim also directs drama for television and has worked on many of the most popular shows of recent times including Hotel Babylon, Shameless and Holby Blue.

Jim directed DCI Banks: Dry Bones That Dream for Left Bank Pictures and directed the critically acclaimed 3-parter for ITV called Life of Crime, starring Hayley Atwell. 

Jim has recently finished his second feature Chasing Satellites, which stars Paz Vega and Carmen Maura and is produced by Met Film.
