John Breen

John is the Artistic Director of Yew Tree Theatre Company. He trained as a director under the Abbey Theatre's Directors' Scheme in 1988 and went on to join the Open House Theatre Project in 1990. He has worked extensively as a director in Ireland, winning the Irish Times Best Director Award for his play Alone It Stands. John has also worked as a teacher, occupying the post of Director of Theatre Studies at Ringsend Technical Institute, Dublin, from 1996 until his appointment at Yew Tree Theatre in 1999.
