Jon Baird

Jon worked as a freelance director and producer for every UK television network and spent a number of years with the BBC comedy department before moving into feature film.

His debut feature, Cass, received widespread critical acclaim and was released theatrically in the UK by Optimum in 2008.

The film, which was written, directed and produced by Jon, has since gone on to become one of Optimum's most successful titles on DVD, and has been picked up in the US by the Independent Film Channel as well as being distributed internationally. 

In 2010, Jon launched two projects - Embassy, a film surrounding the true events of the Iranian Embassy siege in London of 1980 - and an adaptation of Irvine Welsh's best selling cult novel, Filth.
