Writer/director Jon Sen stitched his first film at the age of 14 from footage he'd shot on a clunky VHS camera. His passion for editing led to his first job working as a documentary editor on high-profile strands such as The Secret and The Real...
His break as a professional filmmaker came in 2000 when he won a comission from BBC Films/BBC2. The subsequent film, The Love Doctor, was commended by festivals across the world.
In 2003 he directed Second Generation for Channel 4, which won an EMMA and was named in the Observer's top ten television pieces of 2003. The two part Brit Asian drama garnered awards from around the world and featured in the BFI's retrospective of the best British TV of the 21st century. His other TV work includes Waterloo Road, Frances Tuesday, starring Tamzin Outhwaite and Stan for BBC 4.
As a writer, his work includes the Touching Infinity, a BBC4 biopic about the mathematical genius Ramanujan, in development with BBC in-house drama; the award winning radio play, 4.4.68 about the assassaination of Martin Luther King, and an adaptation of Hardy's Two on a Tower.
He is currently developing a feature film about the nuclear whistleblower, Mordechai Vanunu.
