Krishnendu is an award-winning director. He won the John Brabourne Big Five film award and a Mental Health in Media Award in 2008. He was nominated for a BAFTA in 2005 for his directing and also as Best Director in the Broadcast Young Talent awards. Described by Screen International as one of "the brightest new hopes of the British film industry" in their 2006 'Stars of Tomorrow' list and "the maker of uncompromising documentaries" by
The Independent. He was Series Director of the hugely successful
An Idiot Abroad, Executive Produced by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant and starring Karl Pilkington, which broke viewing records for Sky1. Krish was Executive Producer for the second series, which returned to Sky1 in September 2011.
Krish graduated from Bristol University with a joint honours degree in English and Drama. He won 2 scholarships for a post-graduate diploma in broadcast journalism at Cardiff University. He trained on the prestigious BBC Production Trainee scheme, ITN News Trainee scheme and the BBC Drama Series Directors Academy. He has also worked in development for BBC Films.
