I'm a native New Yorker; but let's put that aside and press on. After college, I was poised to enter law school but a life-changing panic attack on the day of course registration had me rethink the decision. I began working at ICM as a minimum-wage temp after a series of publishing jobs including textbook production and moving (quickly) to trade editorial, promotion, marketing and publicity. There was a brief detour to study acting at The Neighborhood Playhouse but we don't talk about that.
My list reflects a love of far-ranging literary fiction, memoir, and narrative nonfiction with a strong point of view. It continues to be a genuine thrill to recognize and help grow new voices. I now earn slightly more than minimum wage.
