Lucinda

Lucinda Riley

Profile

Lucinda Riley was born in Ireland and during her childhood travelled extensively abroad, particularly to the Far East.

Moving to London, she became an actress working in film, theatre and television. Her passion for history combined with her love of travel - Thailand in particular - inspired her to write Hothouse Flower, which was published by Penguin in 2010.

Hothouse Flower was chosen for the Richard and Judy Bookclub and went on to become an international bestseller, with over a million copies sold to date, remaining at number one in the German charts for seventeen weeks.

Her new book, The Light Behind the Window, will be published by Macmillan in August 2012.

She lives in Norfolk with her husband and children.
