Markus Zusak is the author of The Underdog, Fighting Ruben Wolfe and The Messenger which was published in Australia and the US where it won the prestigious Printz Honor Book for Excellence in Young Adult Literature.

His latest novel, the best-selling The Book Thief, debuted at number 3 on the New York Times Bestseller List, has been published to critical acclaim in the UK, translated into over 20 languages and the film rights have been optioned by Fox 2000. His new novel, The Bridge of Clay is expected to be released in 2012.
