Matt Hayes

Matt Hayes is probably the UK's best known fishing celebrity having caught everything from great white sharks to sticklebacks. Certainly one of Britain’s most skilled anglers, Matt has been making television angling programmes for over ten years that have featured mainly on the Discovery Real Channels.

After leaving university with a law degree, and after deciding one day that he could not take another moment of being a Sales and Marketing Director, walked out of the office, into a new career in television and has never looked back.

That decision aged 28 steered him on a course to become one of the UK's most famous anglers, with a string of top-rated fishing shows to his name, including Total Fishing, Wet Nets and The Great Rod Race. Matt has also written a weekly column in the Angling Times for almost a decade.
