Matt works in comedy and is an award-winning director/writer.

He started out as a runner working on shows such as Dead Ringers, Comic Relief and That Mitchell and Webb Look, and progressed to working as Assistant Director and then Director on a range of TV series, including Comedy Cuts, Headcases, and the second series of Lunch Monkeys. He regularly directs shows for comedy performers at the Edinburgh Festival and directed a series of multi-camera live gigs in Edinburgh, which were featured on BBC Online, BBC News at Ten and BBC2’s Late Review. Past collaborations include the Idiots of Ants, Brendon Burns (which won the Edinburgh Comedy Award) and Isabel Fay.

Most recently he directed the pilot for Imran Yusuf's new BBC3 show, a live DVD for Brendon Burns filmed at the Bloomsbury Theatre and has just been invited back for a second block directing on Hollyoaks.

Matt also works as an online comedy producer and director for the BBC and has created a wealth of successful online comic shorts. He also has extensive script editing experience and has directed numerous read-throughs for pilots.
