Mostert, Clay and Pai longlisted for World Book Day Spread The Word Award
October 21, 2008
Natasha Mostert's Season of the Witch (Bantam), Daniel Clay's Broken (Harper) and Hsiao-Hung Pai's Chinese Whispers (Figtree) have been longlisted for the 2009 World Book Day Spread the Word Award.
The award aims to encourage people to discuss the books they love and identifies those books deemed "most worth talking about". The longlist was chosen by booksellers, reading groups and World Book Day organizers, and will be whittled down to a shortlist of ten, to be announced at the end of January 2009.
Last year's winner, Boy A by Jonathan Trigell, was made into a BAFTA-winning film by Cuba Pictures.
The overall winner will be determined by an online vote and will be announced on World Book Day on 5 March 2009. Vote for your favourite book online.
