2019 Cannes Film Festival: Florence Pugh named as Chopard Award Winner

Chopard has awarded its annual Trophy for up-and-coming talent to Florence
Pugh.

Encouraging young actors through the Chopard Trophy has been a longstanding
tradition for the jeweller, which is the official sponsor of the Cannes Film
Festival. Florence was presented with her award during a ceremony held as part of the film festival’s official line-up on Monday 20th May 2019. Previous winners have included Marion Cotillard, Audrey Tautou, Elizabeth Debicki and Gael García Bernal.

Pugh is best known for her leading role in independent feature film LADY MACBETH. She will also be starring in the highly anticipated films MIDSOMMAR, directed by Ari Aster and Greta Gerwig’s LITTLE WOMEN.

Florence has been a BAFTA Breakthrough Brit and was nominated for the EE BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2018.
