BBC1 to adapt Emma Healey’s Elizabeth is Missing

BBC1 has commissioned a 90 minute film adaptation of Emma Healey’s debut novel Elizabeth is Missing. Andrea Gibb, screenwriter of Swallows and Amazons and Dear Frankie, will pen the screenplay based on Healey’s novel. “Part detective story, part portrait of a fracturing mind, Andrea Gibb’s witty, sensitive adaptation of Emma Healey’s novel brings this first-hand account of experiencing dementia to life” said Piers Wagner, BBC’s controller of drama commissioning.

Elizabeth is Missing was a Sunday Times Bestseller and winner of the Costa First Novel award. Emma Healey’s next book, Whistle in the Dark, will be published by Viking this May.
