Boy A Nominated for RTS Awards

Boy A

February 29, 2008

Boy A, Cuba Pictures' first production, was nominated in three categories at this year's Royal Television Society Programme Awards. Along with Best Single Drama, Mark O'Rowe's screenplay earned him a Best Writer nomination, and rising star Andrew Garfield was nominated for Best Actor.

The television film, adapted from Jonathan Trigell's novel, tells the story of a young man's attempt to re-integrate himself into society after ten years in prison for an unspeakable crime.

Winners will be announced on 19 March 2008 in London.

'A perfectly shattering adaptation of Jonathan Trigell's novel. Immaculately acted and written with courage and compassion, it will scoop out your heart and throw pepper in your eyes' Guardian G2

'Exciting, moving and terrifying in turns. A brilliant example of Channel 4 drama' Daily Telegraph

'Powerful, affecting and thought provoking drama with fantastic performances at its heart' Daily Mail

'Extraordinary....if there's been a more auspicious TV debut this year [than that of Andrew Garfield] we'd like to see it' The Times
