Carrie's War - a Best Ever Book

Carrie's War by Nina Bawden has been named as one of Puffin's 70 best-ever books. The novel, set in WW2, tells the story of Carrie's and her little brother's evacuation to Wales.
Childrens' books publisher Puffin has released the list of titles to mark its 70th anniversary.
Split into categories such as Best Mischief and Mayhem, Best Swashbucklers, War and Conflict and even Best Alternatives to Twilight. The list is being released to coincide with National Puffin Share-A-Story Day, which was celebrated across the UK on the 8 May with hundreds of schools, bookshops and libraries marking the day by hosting Puffin parties.
The list will also feature in The Puffin Handbook, a new guide to children's books for parents, available free from bookshops and libraries and for download from Puffin's website.
