February 18, 2011
Charlie May-Clark stars in South Riding, a new three part drama for BBC1, which also features Janine Mellor and Jennifer Hennessy.
South Riding follows the lives and loves of a 1930s Yorkshire town explored in a passionate tale of politics in small places.
Charlie plays Lydia Holly, a teenage girl with huge academic potential but very limiting social circumstances who arrives at the local Kiplington High School. Jennifer plays Mrs Holly, the wife of a poor labourer and struggling with a hard life, and Janine, Bessie, a local with a reputation as a bit of a floosy.
The first episode of South Riding is on BBC 1 at 9.00 on Sunday 20th February.
