Child 44 nominated for Costa First Novel Award 2008

Tom Rob Smith's Child 44 has been shortlisted for the Costa First Novel Award 2008.

This annual prize honours the best debut novel by authors based in the UK or Ireland. Child 44 is an intense thriller set in Stalinist Russia and was previously longlisted for the Man Booker Prize.

The winner will be announced on 6th January 2008 followed by a ceremony in London on 27th January 2008.
