The Edinburgh International Film Festival will host the world premiere of Niall MacCormick's feature debut Albatross,which screens on 19 and 21 June. Starring Jessica Brown-Findlay, Sebastian Koch, Julia Ormond and Felicity Jones, Albatross is the story of a frustrated writer and the incendiary effect on his family of the arrival of ebullilent seventeen-year-old Emelia.

In the Scottish Shorts strand of the Festival, Patrick Harkins has two short films showing; Exterior-Park-Day, starring Peter Mullan, and Sarajevo, starring Blythe Duff as a teacher preparing a farewell speech for the retiring head master will premiere on June 23.
The Festival will also host screenings of Channel 4's 'Coming Up' shorts. Nele Hecht's film Geronimo, Henry Darke's Hooked and John Williams's Magic will all be shown as part of this showcase for the best of emerging directing and writing talent.
And in the Family Short section, The Ball written by Bridget Deane, will be shown on June 26.

12 days from June 15 to 26.
