Jane Johnson's Maskmaker wins Warwickshire Junior Book Award 2011
July 08, 2011
Maskmaker, by
Jane Johnson, has won the Warwickshire Junior Book Award 2011. The award is judged by pupils in years 5 and 6 from a shortlist of the most exciting books for their age group published in 2010. The winning book must, quite simply, be a ‘great read’.
Maskmaker balances magic and reality as we follow the hero Jamie through a perilous journey through the deserts of Africa, the frozen glaciers of Greenland and the Great Wall of China, with only a talking cat to help him.
