Jessica commended by Critics' Circle

Jessica Barden has been named runner-up in the Critics Circle Young British Performer of the Year Award for her breakthrough performance in Tamara Drewe. Jessica, who started her career in Coronation Street, is due to co-star in the upcoming Joe Wright picture Hanna as well as Alistair Siddons’ The Dark Half, both of which are due out later this year.

Also triumphant was Monsters creator Gareth Edwards who won the Breakthrough British Filmmaker Award. Gareth, who is attached to direct the new Legendary Pictures Godzilla, is also set to write and direct an as yet untitled science fiction project for Timur Bekmambetov.
