Sadie J recommissioned for second series
March 30, 2011
CBBC in-house drama have recommissioned a second series (13 x 30 mins) of Robert Evans' break-out hit, laugh-out-loud and warm-hearted sitcom, Sadie J, which will also be produced by Paul Mackenzie again. The new series following the life of a feisty 13 year old girl trying to grow up living in a boys' world will be shown in early 2012.
Starring newcomer and comedy find, Georgia Lock (discovered after the programme makers had auditioned over 900 girls) alongside comedy veterans Steve Speirs (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Mel Giedroyc (Mel & Sue; Sorry I've Got No Head) the series has proved a hit with critics and audiences alike.
Created and written by Robert Evans, this fast paced studio comedy is, as the Radio Times commented, "stuffed with more gags than most primetime shows!"
