The Ark sets sail on BBC1

Nico Mirallegro leads The Ark, BBC One’s brand-new single drama featuring Antonia Thomas.

The one-off special, written by the acclaimed Tony Jordan, is a retelling of the biblical story of Noah and the Ark. Noah, a farmer and family man, is instructed by an angel to build an ark in the middle of a desert in order to save both his family and the faithful from a devastating flood.

Nico stars as Kenan, the disobedient, rebellious son of Noah, who doesn’t want to follow the path that his brothers have taken. Nico is about to start shooting the lead in Alan Ball’s new pilot for HBO Virtuoso. He has just finished filming new indie film Habit of Beauty and has reprised his role in the E4 sitcom My Mad Fat Diary. Nico was BAFTA-nominated for his role in The Village opposite Maxine Peake.

Antonia features as Sabba, a mysterious young woman who meets Kenan when he ventures into the Forbidden City walls. Last year saw Antonia leading in new channel 4 comedy Scrotal Recall and more recently the BBC hit drama The Musketeers. Later this year will see Antonia on the big screen in feature film Survivor.

The Ark is broadcast on Monday 30 March at 8.30pm on BBC1. You can watch the trailer here...
