Walsh and Hims win Writers' Guild Awards

Enda Walsh and Katie Hims have been announced as winners at the Writers' Guild Awards 2009.
Enda was awarded the prize for Best Feature Film Screenplay for his original screenplay Hunger, which was directed by Steve McQueen and starred Michael Fassbender as IRA hunger striker Bobby Sands.
Dramatist Katie Hims won the award for Best Radio Drama for her BBC Radio 4 play, Gunshot Wedding, about gun crime. Katie is a prolific writer for Radio 4 and Radio 3 and recently wrote the Woman's Hour drama Degrees of Separation, which was adapted from stories of personal experiences submitted to the programme by listeners.
